this song. walking through the city at night, all the building lights off with every lobby bright with the holiday display their management team and floral vendor had spent 3 months and $25,000 designing. feeling passionately drawn towards something.. that big, exhilarating, nebulous something that fills up my chest to the back of my throat and makes me want to move into the city, join a trivia league for the “sense of community”, spend every weekend drinking recklessly, staying out late on nights i should be sleeping, sailing in the bay with the cold winter wind screwing up my hair and a smile on my face despite the rain. do anything and everything i can to explode my life everywhere, all over this part of california. and then i will move onto the rest of the world AND ENERGIZE AN ENTIRE GENERATION OF PEOPLE TO REALIZE THAT THEY, TOO, CAN FILL THEIR BODIES WITH INTOXICATING FEELINGS OF STRANGENESS THAT INSPIRE THEM TO SPONTANEOUSLY STEER THEMSELVES INTO DOING WHATEVER SILLY ILLOGICAL THINGS THEY THINK WILL MAKE THEM HAPPY.
i just don’t think we have enough time in life to ignore or forget about the things we’re passionately drawn to. especially when they come out of nowhere to take you by surprise, and they’re good, and they’re hot, and they’re risqué. i experienced something new last weekend, and when i came back home the seasons had changed too.
